In the Mykolaiv region, during a joint check of the military enlistment office, a driver from Angelina Jolie’s convoy was stopped. According to available information, this is a 33-year-old combat-sambo coach from Kropyvnytskyi – Dmytro, whom his brother named during talks with media representatives.
According to relatives, Dmytro did not serve in the army. In the past, he studied at the military department of an aviation academy about ten years ago.
They were traveling in a convoy, but he is not a bodyguard. He is from a civil organization, acting as an escort, to show and explain how a volunteer traveled with them. He is not Angelina Jolie’s bodyguard. He is not on the wanted list. He has a back condition that prevents him from turning. He has a current military medical clearance valid for 2025. All documents and a volunteer ID were with him. He is fit for service in the Territorial Recruitment Center and Social Support and in rear supply units
Dmytro’s girlfriend, Yulia Lotitska, said that his phone is currently off – he does not answer calls or messages. She is now heading to the Mykolaiv region to clarify the situation on the ground.
He called me yesterday closer to the evening. Before that I had written to him several times; he did not answer. Then I decided to call; his phone was off. After a while he called back and told me that in the Mykolaiv region, in Voznesensk, the TRC. That he was detained; he was moving with the convoy. They offered him to accompany Angelina Jolie and he agreed. He is a public figure in our city. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, he has worked directly with the military, buying them cars, organizing regular gatherings. He has a recent military medical clearance from June this year. He has a diagnosis of “ankylosing spondylitis” – a chronic inflammatory disease that mainly affects the joints of the spine
According to internal sources in the military structures, one of Jolie’s convoy drivers was a Ukrainian citizen, a reserve officer, who had issues with military registration documents.
The driver’s visit to the South Ukrainian Territorial Recruitment Center and Social Support was recorded as part of the escort within the event.
According to preliminary data, there was no conflict between Angelina Jolie and the TRC representatives; the ambassador visited the recruitment center’s facilities for the purpose of the visit, and in particular used the restroom.
