As reported by the SkyUp Instagram page

The teams “Aurora” and SkyUp, which took second and third places in the Futsal Extra League, announced their merger for the 2025/26 season. This was revealed in an official statement from SkyUp.

The management of both clubs decided to merge after a series of negotiations, emphasizing that this step will contribute to the “further qualitative development of Ukrainian futsal.” The new club, named “Aurora-SkyUp,” will participate in the next futsal Extra League season.

In the 2024/25 season, “Aurora” won the silver medal in the Ukrainian championship, losing in the final to “HIT,” who became champions for the third consecutive time. SkyUp, in turn, lost to “Aurora” in the playoff semifinals (0:4 in the series) but earned bronze medals by defeating “Sokil” (3:1).

The merged club will represent Ukraine in the next season of the Futsal Champions League, as “Aurora” secured a spot in the European competition thanks to their silver medal.

The “Aurora” team was founded in 2011 and debuted in Ukraine’s elite division in 2023 after merging with “Klast.” It also became bronze medalists in the Ukrainian championship and finalists in the Ukrainian Cup in the 2023/24 season.

SkyUp, founded in 2020, reached the Extra League level within three years, and the bronze in the 2024/25 season became the best result in the club’s history.

Meanwhile, three-time Ukrainian champion “Energia” announced the suspension of its participation in the Extra League, focusing on developing its own academy. Two-time champions “Uragan” are also seeking a new owner to preserve the club.
