Ukrainian businessman Pavlo Fuks, against whom the National Security and Defense Council introduced sanctions, sent evidence to law enforcement agencies, the Security Council and president Zelensky that the Council was guided by unreliable documents when deciding on sanctions.

Pavlo Fuks stated this on Ukraine 24 TV channel.

On June 24, president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of June 18 on sanctions against businessmen Dmytro Firtash and Pavlo Fuks.

According to Fuks, he has read the document and currently his lawyers are engaged in a more detailed study, ‘All assets are blocked for three years: credit cards, assets, accounts are blocked. Because of this, everything stops, including investment activity. And how can I (continue doing business)?’

Pavlo Fuks assured that he would appeal the decision on sanctions in court.

‘Specific claims against me by our state are that I am a citizen of Russia. Based on this, Mr. Danilov (Chair of the National Security Council) has repeatedly said that sanctions are being imposed on companies attributed to me, but to which I am not related. Yes, I considered the licenses of these companies, I was interested in buying them, but I have nothing to do with these companies. They were allegedly tied to me as to a citizen of the Russian Federation, but this is not true. I am Ukrainian by passport and nationality’, said the businessman.

According to Fuks, he has already sent letters to the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Council and president Volodymyr Zelenskyi with documents stating that what was shown by the head of the National Security Council Oleksii Danilov are fakes.

Fuks assured that he has neither an internal nor a foreign passport of the Russian Federation, as stated in the sanctions document.

‘The president is being misled’, Pavlo Fuks said.
