Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Anusic Visits Kyiv to Strengthen Defense Cooperation with Ukraine

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Croatia, Ivan Anušić, arrived in Kyiv on an official visit on Sunday, October 26.

According to official data, during the two-day visit a meeting with Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal is expected on Monday, October 27, in Kyiv. During the meeting, they will discuss further cooperation between the two countries and issues of defence interoperability.

The main topics of the talks will include continuing assistance to the Ukrainian people, support for Ukraine’s defence industry, and joint projects between Croatian and Ukrainian defence companies.

«In addition to my bilateral visit, I have come to Kyiv to pay tribute to the brave Ukrainian people, to Ukraine’s soldiers, and to all victims of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Ukraine has been resisting Russian attacks for almost four years, and Croatia fully understands what an imposed war is. The Croatian government will continue to help Ukraine, and during my visit to Kyiv we will also discuss support for Ukraine’s defence industry, and cooperation between Croatian and Ukrainian military industries»

Ongoing support and cooperation

Since the beginning of Russia’s aggression, Croatia has provided support to Ukraine – 14 packages of military aid have already been delivered, totaling about €214 million.

It is also known that the Croatian company continues to localize the production of mine-clearing machines in Ukraine.

Additionally, the Verkhovna Rada has ratified an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Croatia on cooperation in the field of mine action.
