As of October 23, in Donetsk region, farmers have completed threshing of cereals and leguminous crops on an area of 68.22 thousand hectares out of the planned 86.3 thousand hectares. This indicates a significant portion of the planned harvest has been gathered on the territory under Ukrainian control.
The seasonal results were provided by the Department of Agro-Industrial Complex and Land Resources of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration.

Current Harvest Results
At the same time, the region’s farmers have already harvested 172.63 thousand tonnes of grain at an average yield of 25.3 centners per hectare.
Winter and spring wheat have been harvested on 31.78 thousand hectares, about 84% of the plan; the total area harvested is 37.5 thousand hectares. A total of 77.05 thousand tonnes of wheat has been harvested, with a yield of 24.2 centners per hectare.
Winter and spring barley have been harvested on 32.72 thousand hectares (98% of the plan); the projected area was 33.4 thousand hectares. A total of 89.27 thousand tonnes of barley have been harvested, with a yield of 27.3 centners per hectare.
This season, peas were planned to be harvested from 0.8 thousand hectares, winter and spring rapeseed from 0.945 thousand hectares, and oats from 0.45 thousand hectares. According to the Donetsk Oblast Administration (OVA), peas were harvested from 81.3% of the area – 0.65 thousand hectares; harvested 0.73 thousand tonnes, yield 11.2 centners per hectare.
Winter rapeseed has been harvested from 87.1% of the area – 0.88 thousand hectares; 1.62 thousand tonnes harvested, yield 18.5 centners per hectare.
Oats were harvested over 88.9% of the area – 0.4 thousand hectares threshed; 1.1 thousand tonnes received, yield 27.5 centners per hectare.
Sunflower harvesting is also underway: as of October 23, 43.4 thousand hectares had been threshing, which is 62.4% of the forecast (69.6 thousand hectares). About 49.9 thousand tonnes of sunflower have been harvested, with a yield of 11.5 centners per hectare.
Grain corn has been threshing on 2.12 thousand hectares, which is 17.1% of the forecast (12.4 thousand hectares); from this crop 3.93 thousand tonnes have been produced, yield – 18.5 centners per hectare.
According to the OVA, the total projected area for harvesting cereals and grain legumes in the region for the current season was 86.3 thousand hectares.
According to the administration, in 2021 Donetsk had sowing areas of 1.41 million hectares, but during the full-scale invasion they shrank to 406 thousand hectares. In 2023 it was 364 thousand hectares, in 2024 – 334 thousand hectares. For 2025, they planned a sowing area of about 198 thousand hectares, of which spring crops occupied 137.7 thousand hectares.
The harvesting situation remains dynamic: final results as of today are still being refined and will be published as new data comes in.
