As stated in the Italian government’s statement
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, during participation in today’s meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, stated that allies in Europe and America must unite to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine.
The statement was released by the Italian government. The event took place against the backdrop of recently imposed new sanctions by the EU and the US against Russia due to Moscow’s prolonged aggression and unwillingness to stop hostilities.
During her video address, Prime Minister Meloni again emphasized the importance of unity between the two sides of the Atlantic in achieving a ceasefire, on the basis of which a credible negotiation process can begin, starting from the current frontline, with the aim of achieving a just and lasting peace.
Unity between Europe and the United States to achieve peace
According to reports, on October 24 in London a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing took place. Some participants gathered in the British capital, while others joined online.
Following the meeting, the participating countries announced new steps to support Ukraine. The Netherlands announced an increase in financial support for Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, France said that in the coming days it would deliver additional Aster missiles and new Mirage aircraft to Ukraine, and the United Kingdom said it would accelerate its program to supply Ukraine with over 5,000 multi-purpose missiles.
Such steps underscore the shared responsibility of Europe and the United States for peace in Ukraine and the importance of coordinated diplomacy for a durable ceasefire and stability in the region.
