About these results of the Median center survey, published on the news website HVG, Bloomberg
The opposition party “Tisa” in Hungary, led by Péter Magyar, is showing significant growth in support, outpacing the ruling party “Fidesz” of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán by 15%. These figures were released following a survey conducted by the Median center and published on the news website HVG, according to Bloomberg.
According to this survey, “Tisa,” which was founded just last year, has the backing of 51% of voters, while 36% of respondents are ready to cast their votes for “Fidesz.” In March of this year, data from the same polling company showed “Tisa” leading by 9%.
Median notes that such a gap could be sufficient to secure a decisive victory for “Tisa,” a feat Viktor Orbán has repeatedly achieved since 2010.
Additionally, the survey results indicate that over two-thirds of Hungarian voters believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, and 62% support a change of government. Forty-two percent of those surveyed think “Tisa” will win the next elections, while 38% predict success for “Fidesz.”
According to Reuters data, Magyar’s party enjoys particular popularity among young people: 58% of voters under 40 support “Tisa,” whereas the majority of voters over 50 prefer Orbán’s party.
