Intense Fighting and Defense on Pokrovsk Front November 5

According to the headquarters, in the Pokrovske direction on November 5, Russian forces made 100 attempts to advance to the positions of Ukrainian units.

During November 5, 276 combat engagements were recorded on the front, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the morning briefing, the enemy delivered one missile strike on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements and 55 airstrikes – launched five missiles and dropped 124 guided aerial bombs; also involved 3,992 kamikaze drones and carried out 4,354 shellings of the positions of our troops and settlements, including 122 – from rocket launch systems. Yesterday aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two districts of concentration of weapons and military equipment and the enemy’s artillery system, – as stated in the morning briefing.

Pokrovsk Direction: Attacks and Defense

According to the General Staff, on the Pokrovsk direction of the Donetsk region exactly 100 attacks were recorded. Our defenders stopped these actions in the areas of Mayak, Nikanorivka, Fedorivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrolubivka, Pokrovsk, Lysivka, Zvirove, Novopavlivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Muravka, Filia and Yalta. Measures are being taken to block the enemy who is trying to penetrate and accumulate in the city of Pokrovsk. Active resistance to attempts by enemy infantry groups to consolidate is ongoing. In Pokrovsk, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are conducting assault-reconnaissance operations. In particular, assault units of 425 OSHP, SBS operators, consolidated groups of SSO, VSP of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the GUR of the Ministry of Defence are involved. Military units defending the city have been reinforced.

Fighting also continued on the North Slobozhanskiy and Kursk directions, South Slobozhanskiy, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Kostyantynivka, Oleksandrivske, Huliaipilske, Orihiv and Prydniprovski directions. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on November 5 stated that the defense of the Pokrovsk–Myrnograd agglomeration continues, and “there is no encirclement of our units and formations.” The day before, the American Institute for the Study of War stated in its report that Russian forces continue to advance on the Pokrovsk direction and operate “with increasing ease” inside the city itself. At the same time, Ukrainian forces continue defensive efforts and counterattacks where needed, and the military command stresses that the defense of the Pokrovsk–Myrnograd agglomeration holds the line and does not allow a large-scale encirclement of units. Analysts note that the situation in the Pokrovsk area remains tense but under the control of the defense forces, while Russian troops continue to gather reserves and choose a strategy of advancing, focusing on key nodes in the region.

Покровськ – місто з населенням близько 1250 людей (за даними місцевої влади на кінець жовтня, до початку повномасштабного вторгнення РФ – понад 60 тисяч) – є важливим дорожнім і залізничним вузлом й більшу частину року перебував під загрозою оточення російськими військами. Співзасновник і аналітик платформи DeepState Роман Погорілий у ефірі Радіо Свобода (програма Свобода Live) заявив, що російські війська поступово заходять у Покровськ і ситуація навколо Мирnogрада стає дедалі небезпечнішою. За його словами, противник уже має можливість накопичувати сили безпосередньо в місті, поступово «поглинаючи» Покровськ.

Попри інтенсивні дії з боку противника, українські збройні сили підтримують оборону на ключових напрямках і продовжують контрзаходи там, де це потрібно. Військове командування підкреслює, що оборона Покровсько-Мирноградської агломерації тримає лінії та не допускає масштабного оточення підрозділів. Аналітики відзначають, що ситуація в районі Покровська залишається напруженою, але під контролем сил оборони, тоді як російські війська продовжують збирати резерви та обирати стратегію просування, орієнтуючись на вузлові райони регіону.

У загальному підсумку бойові дії на окремих напрямках зберігають високу інтенсивність, проте українська армія тримає лінії оборони, посилює контрзаходи та продовжує звільнення територій у відповідних секторах. Важливий акцент робиться на забезпеченні безпеки населення та збереженні оборонних позицій у ключових пунктах інфраструктури, щоб мінімізувати вплив ворожих ударів на життя людей та стабільність регіону.
