The head of the community, Mykola Toryanik, shared with us up-to-date details of the events and the prospects for the near future.
“The situation is critical. As far as we know, a new unit has crossed to the other side. Just yesterday, 17 Molniya missiles hit Khotyn itself. They struck both with drones on fiber-optic lines, and the artillery shelling has been going on for three days, MLRS, KABs. This Sunday is very, very hard. One can, of course, raise their hands and shout: “All is lost, all is lost.” But nothing is lost”, –
Last week, the local council building in Khotyn burned down. The community leader noted that the event hit the community hard, but emphasized that destroying the building does not mean a loss of power, because Ukrainians are a people. According to him, despite the fire, a new building will eventually appear and our national flag will be raised.
According to the regional military administration, a private house in the Khotyn community was damaged by shelling.
At the end of August, it became known that Ukrainian forces had advanced north of Andriivka within the community.
