Details of Israel’s Airstrikes on Iran
On the night of June 13, Israel conducted a “precise preemptive strike” on multiple Iranian military sites, aiming to damage the country’s nuclear program, the Israel Defense Forces reported.
In response, Iran launched drones which, according to the IDF, were successfully intercepted.
These attacks resulted in the deaths of high-ranking officials, including the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami, and the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, according to the Iranian state news agency.
The IAEA expressed concern over the strikes on nuclear facilities, noting that no increase in radiation levels has been detected so far.
Iran called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. Several countries, including the United Kingdom, China, and Oman, have urged de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
