In the intensive care unit of one of the capital’s hospitals, a 74-year-old woman who was injured in the Russian attack on Kyiv on September 7 died. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, confirmed the sad news.
According to the mayor, on September 7 in the Sviatoshynskyi district a young woman and her infant were killed. The next day, the body of another man was recovered from the rubble. A week ago, a young woman who had been struck by a rocket died in the hospital; at the time of her death she was pregnant. Doctors fought for her life for two weeks – the baby was saved by a cesarean section.

Consequences of the shelling and strike locations
On the night of September 7, Russian forces carried out a drone strike on Kyiv. Fires broke out, residential buildings were damaged, and there were dead and injured. Likely, fire-fighting brigades and the State Emergency Service aviation were involved in the response.
In the Sviatoshyn district, most of the destruction was recorded in residential dwellings: a nine-story building was partially destroyed, a mother with an infant was found under the rubble. There was also a fire in a 16-story building.
In the Darnytskyi district, debris struck a four-story building; there were no fatalities recorded there, but an elderly woman died in a shelter. In the Pecherskyi district, after the debris fell, the upper floors of the government building housing the Cabinet of Ministers caught fire – the first such attack on a government building since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Besides Kyiv, the shelling also affected Kyiv Oblast: an 18-year-old girl sustained a leg injury, private houses and warehouses were damaged. In the Fastiv district, a stable was destroyed as a result of the strike – seven horses died.
On the region’s defense line, about eighty enemy drones were destroyed – this figure is currently a record for the night, according to the head of the regional administration.
