The general director of the company that supplied electricity to Kyivpastrans has been charged with embezzlement of 47 million hryvnias.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office announced this in an official post on its Facebook page.
Under the supervision of the Podilskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv, the general director of the company that supplied electricity to Kyivpastrans has been notified of suspicion of misappropriating budget funds
Terms of the Agreement and the Amount of Overpayment
According to investigators, at the end of 2022 an agreement was signed that obligated the supplier to inform Kyivpastrans monthly about changes in the price on the electricity market and to adjust it in accordance with market changes.
However, as the prosecutor’s office states, price reductions during that period were not reflected in the supplier’s invoices. As a result, in 2023-2024 the municipal utility overpaid for electricity by more than 47 million hryvnias.
As part of the investigation, the actions of those responsible and possible abuses in the procurement sphere are being examined.
