Lucid Motors Leadership Changes Amid New Product Launches

Clear.

According to Techcrunch

Lucid Motors’ Chief Engineer Erik Bah is leaving the company after more than ten years of service, the company announced. He also held the role of Senior Vice President of Product and joined Lucid in 2015.

Before joining Lucid, Bah spent three years as Director of Engineering at Tesla, working alongside former Lucid Motors CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson. Prior to that, he spent more than ten years at Volkswagen.

At the same time, Lucid’s Vice President of Quality, Jerry Ford, is retiring. Her replacement will be Marnie Levergood, who is joining the company from Scout Motors.

Additionally, Senior Vice President of Powertrain Ermad Dlada is being promoted to lead the Engineering and Digital divisions. Dlada has previously received a promotion and has been with the company since 2015.

The changes come as Lucid enters the ninth month without a permanent CEO after Peter Rawlinson’s sudden resignation in February. Former Chief Operating Officer Mark Winterhoff has since been serving as interim CEO.

Bah and Ford’s departures have become another episode in Lucid Motors’ leadership turnover. Over the past year, the company has seen the departure of its Head of Investor Relations, the Senior Vice President of Operations, the Europe Director, and Vice Presidents of Software Quality and Marketing.

The changes occur at a critical moment in the company’s history. Lucid has finally unveiled its long-awaited luxury SUV, Gravity, which is expected to deliver stronger results for the company than the Air sedan, whose sales have repeatedly underperformed. Lucid is also working on a mid-size vehicle, with a price that is expected to approach $50,000 in 2026, though this will likely require additional financing.

These leadership changes underscore Lucid’s transition from development to mass production of its vehicles and the need for stable leadership during the final steps toward monetizing the technology.

Outlook for Lucid

The focus remains on the company’s ambitions to expand its model lineup and launch a new mid-size vehicle at an affordable price. Maintaining stable leadership and effectively managing innovation will be key factors in Lucid’s success in the competitive electric-vehicle market.
