An official of the Territorial Center for Recruitment was served with a suspicion. Press Service of the State Bureau of Investigation
According to the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation
Officials of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) handed a notice of suspicion to the deputy head of the Lviv regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, who at the time of the disclosure was performing the duties of the head and concealed in his declaration a house and a land plot. The property valued at over 6 million hryvnias was transferred to his mother-in-law. This was reported by the SBI press service.
According to investigators, in 2023–2024 the official deliberately did not declare 0.025 hectares of land and a residential house of 139 square meters in the Lviv district, built on this plot. This property is registered to his mother-in-law, but at that time the acting head of the TCRS and members of his family actually resided there. The total value of undeclared property exceeds 6 million UAH.
The investigation has grounds to believe that the acquisition of this property is dubious, as the official’s and his family’s declared incomes do not correspond to the property’s actual value. Thus, at the Bureau’s initiative, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention has ordered a full check of the lifestyle of the former head of the TCRS. Currently, the suspect’s property has been seized
Suspicion and Further Actions
The TCRS official was served with a notice of suspicion. The SBI press service confirmed that the property has been seized and the investigation is ongoing.
In addition, the SBI is checking information about an undeclared Mercedes car registered to the official’s father. “In fact, the relative’s income does not confirm the ability to purchase such a vehicle. The car was bought in 2021, while he was serving as a commander of one of the military units. The approximate value of the car is $18,000,” the SBI reports.
The house and the car are the main objects under investigation in this proceeding. The official has been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (declaration of false information). The strictest punishment under this provision provides for a deprivation of liberty for up to two years, along with disqualification from holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years.
