This is reported by Axios citing an Economist/YouGov poll released this week.
According to a recent survey, the majority of Americans oppose U.S. involvement in the conflict between Israel and Iran. This study, conducted by Economist/YouGov, was published this week and has sparked significant interest.
The survey included 1,512 respondents, of whom 60% expressed the opinion that American armed forces should not intervene in this conflict. Only 16% support military intervention, while 24% of respondents were undecided about their position.
Interestingly, this view remains consistent across different political groups: 65% of Democrats, 61% of independent voters, and 53% of Republicans oppose U.S. intervention.
Regarding Iran’s nuclear program, 61% of Americans consider it a serious or immediate threat to the U.S. Most respondents also support diplomatic negotiations with Iran: 58% of Democrats and 61% of Republicans believe the diplomatic route should be chosen.
An additional survey conducted by the Washington Post among 1,008 American adults on June 18 showed that 70% of respondents view Iran’s nuclear program as a serious or immediate threat. Republicans are more likely than Democrats or independents to rate this threat as urgent and serious.
The Economist/YouGov survey was conducted from June 13 to 16 with a margin of error of approximately ±3%. The Washington Post survey took place on June 18 with a margin of error of ±3.6 percentage points.
