As reported by hromadske.

In the Sumy region, a 26-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of arranging the murder of his ex-girlfriend, according to law enforcement authorities and the regional prosecutor’s office.

According to investigators, at the beginning of September, operatives received information about a person seeking a hitman among criminals.

It turned out that the man ordered the murder of his ex-girlfriend, with whom he had lived for about five years in a de facto marriage.

According to the victim, during the full-scale war the woman refused to move with him to another country and did not want to continue the relationship, telling him this more than a year ago.

However, over a long period the man harassed her and threatened to harm her, according to investigators.

All this time he terrorized her and threatened to harm her.

The police established that the offender had developed a detailed plan to murder his former cohabitant out of jealousy and perceived costs during the relationship.

Having found the “hitman,” the suspect handed him a photograph of the girl and described her lifestyle in detail to facilitate carrying out the task. He also provided an advance of 15 thousand hryvnias.

According to investigators, the planned approach envisioned the harshest option – a knife in a cafe during a staged conflict, but the executor insisted on using firearms.

All subsequent actions took place under the supervision of law enforcement: they staged the “murder,” and the “executor” sent many photos of the “dead” woman to the man, after which the parties agreed on the final settlement.

During the transfer of the second tranche amounting to 10,000 dollars, the operatives detained the man; the funds were seized.

The detained person was informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 14, Part 3 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – organizing and preparing for premeditated murder. He faces up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.

The prosecutor’s office reports that the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days without bail.
