Massive Russian Attack Hits Kyiv Region Causing Severe Damage and Outages

Today’s massive attack by Russia on Kyiv Oblast has caused serious damage in six districts of the region: more than two thousand residents have been left without gas, and more than 2,500 customers – without electricity. These figures were announced by the head of Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnik.

According to him, 586 customers remain without gas – residents of three apartment buildings and eight private houses. More than 2,500 customers are without electricity in five settlements. Gas and electricity are expected to be restored by the end of the day, Kalashnik said.

Impacts by district and restoration work

In Obukhiv District, damage to one high-rise building, 10 cars and garages, a private house, and a utility outbuilding was recorded. In Bila Tserkivskyi District, the destruction affected warehouses, enterprises, entertainment and shopping centers, as well as four private houses, outbuildings and garages. After debris fell in a nine-story building, a fire in a technical room started; load-bearing structures were partially destroyed; three more high-rise buildings and eight cars were damaged.

In Fastiv District, four private houses and the premises of a bread plant were damaged. In Bucha District, in six high-rise buildings, the glazing of about a thousand windows and balcony structures was shattered; more than 100 vehicles were destroyed or damaged. Fourteen private houses were affected, three of which were completely destroyed.

In Borispil District, eight private houses, outbuildings, garages and two cars were affected. In Brovary District, two private houses were damaged. Three people remain under outpatient treatment – one child and two adults; medical staff are providing all necessary assistance.

Together with local authorities, we are helping those affected: from the region’s reserve fund we provide the necessary building materials, we set up heating and aid points for residents, and psychologists are working with the people

On the night of September 28, Russia launched a massive strike on Kyiv Oblast. According to local sources, the largest damages were recorded in Petropavlivska-Borshchahivka and the surrounding settlements. The relief headquarters provides residents with hot drinks, food, and gloves for cleaning; heating points and support for temporary housing have also been organized.
