As reported by the online media Suspilne.

In Kropyvnytskyi, the memory book “Glory in Eternity” was presented, telling about the fallen soldiers in the Russia-Ukraine war. The edition brings together data on 263 residents of Kirovohrad Oblast who died in the years 2014–2021. The presentation was held at the regional history museum.

According to the museum director Borys Shevchenko, work on the edition began at the end of last year.

During its creation, coordinators were involved in each of the 49 communities of the region; they helped collect, verify, and refine the information, but a large portion of the data was gathered personally.

About the publication and its contents

“The preparation of this edition was entrusted to the regional history museum. In each of the 49 communities we found a coordinator who helped us collect, verify, and refine the information, and we collected it ourselves”

Among the book’s heroes is Volodymyr Stepanok, who died near Debaltseve in Donetsk Oblast on January 26, 2015. His wife, Olena Stepanok, attended the presentation.

“Three photographs of Volodymyr Stepanok and the posthumous award – the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Order. Next is a life photograph from Maidan in Kyiv, this was in 2013. The third is from a hospital treatment. And the last is a lifetime photo, taken on January 1, 2015 in Kropyvnytskyi at a rally in honor of Stepan Bandera”

According to the museum director, the edition was released in a print run of 300 copies with the support of the regional council. Information about costs and funding sources is planned to be published after the appropriate inquiries, after receiving answers through official channels.

“This edition has already been sent to regional cultural institutions: libraries, museums, specialized schools of the regional council. I know that communities are ordering this book; it will also be received by every family of the fallen soldiers”

Currently, at the regional history museum, information gathering for the next volumes is underway: materials are planned about those who died not included in the first volume, as well as about defenders who died in 2022.
