According to the Ministry of Defense’s press service
The Army+ mobile app has launched a new training course titled “Fiber-Optic Drones: Fundamentals of Use”.
The Ministry of Defense’s press service announced this.
This drone format has a number of advantages, including resilience to EW systems, but requires pilots to have specialized skills, precise route planning, and knowledge of operating characteristics
Course Details and Lecturer
The course lecturer is Vitaliy “Straw”, an engineer in the Signum 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of Unmanned Systems named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh.
The course consists of seven thematic sessions, covering everything from basic concepts to practical skills: the advantages and limitations of fiber-optic drones, in particular insensitivity to EW; preparation of fiber optics and equipment (types of connectors, storage and transport of the spool); pre-flight checklist and stages of mission preparation; typical malfunctions and ways to fix them; tethered-flight techniques; planning and target engagement tactics; mission finale: post-flight checks and reporting procedures.
The Ministry of Defense also noted that after each module there are interim tests, and at the end – a final exam. Upon successful completion, participants receive an electronic certificate confirming mastery of the material.
It is noted that Army+ currently offers 17 training courses. More than 150 thousand servicemen are undergoing training in the app – from topics on UAV basics and battlefield communications to psychological preparation and financial literacy.
The app is also adding other courses, including tactical medicine.
In addition, earlier reports mentioned the launch of a basic course on the DELTA combat system.
The new training course in Army+ expands opportunities for training personnel and broadens practical skills in working with fiber-optic drones, which can be useful for combat and rear-area tasks in modern conditions.
