As reported by Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office
A court in the Odesa region found a 37-year-old man guilty of posting on TikTok a video showing the Ukrainian air defense in action during a massive drone and missile attack. He was sentenced to five years in prison. The information was confirmed by the Odesa regional prosecutor’s office on November 6.
According to investigators, in November 2023 a resident of the region, while in Odesa, deliberately filmed on his mobile phone the military’s actions during the defense against the shelling. The recording contained details that could reveal the location of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ firing positions.
The man posted the obtained video under a fictitious username. It was viewed more than 41,000 times, and the clip gathered hundreds of likes and shares.
The prosecutor’s office emphasized that in doing so the accused disclosed information prohibited from publication during martial law, endangering the safety of both military personnel and civilians.
Verdict and Circumstances of the Case
During a search of the man’s home, law enforcement officers found and seized illegally acquired ammunition of various calibers.
The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 114-2 and Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He pleaded not guilty.
