London, AP – Prince William told Eugene Levy, the star of Schitt’s Creek, that 2024 was the hardest year of his life.

The royal figure appeared on Levy’s show The Reluctant Traveler and spoke about the past year, during which his wife Kate, Princess of Wales, and his father, King Charles III, were undergoing cancer treatment.

“I would say that 2024 was the most challenging year of my life. Life, as they say, also tests us, and the ability to overcome it is what makes us who we are.”

Timeline of Events and Context

In a clip from the episode set to air on October 3, William sees Levy off at Windsor Castle, and they chat over a pint at a pub.

Kate said in January that her cancer is in remission, and in recent months she has taken on significantly more public duties. Earlier this month she and William took on key roles in the royal welcome during President Donald Trump’s state visit to the United Kingdom.

Charles also returned to public service after several months of absence last year, focusing on treatment and recovery.

The King and the Princess have not disclosed which exact type of cancer they were treated for.

In this interview, it is evident how the royal family continues to balance public duty with personal trials, showing openness to viewers during challenging years.
