A rocket in airspace. UNIAN
According to Telegram channel of Maksym Kozytskyy
Today, October 5, Russia carried out the largest attack on Lviv region since the start of the full-scale invasion. The zone of responsibility of the Western Air Command was covered by more than 160 targets, most of which were destroyed by the region’s air defense units.
About 163 aerial targets entered the Western Air Command’s area of responsibility: initially 140 “Shahed” drones and 23 cruise missiles. Thanks to the sky defenders for destroying a significant portion of the enemy targets
As a result of the strike, four people were killed and eight residents of the region were injured. Emergency services and response teams worked all day, assessing the damage to infrastructure facilities and the residential sector.
Targets of missiles and “Shaheds” are practically the same – residential buildings, hospitals, civilian industrial facilities. The region’s gas transmission infrastructure facilities were added, which is especially cynical in the context of the cold weather and the start of the heating season
According to the official, the massive attack was not accompanied by releases of harmful substances, except for combustion products, and no ammonia was detected.
Consequences for the region and actions by services
Energy and social facilities sustained significant damage, but rescuers and emergency crews are already coordinating the restoration of power supply and localization of the consequences. Residents are urged to follow safety instructions and stay in shelters during air raid alerts until the situation stabilizes.
