In the overnight hours of September 28, Russia launched a massive strike on Kyiv. According to official city authorities, at least six people were injured and hospitalized. In the capital, damage was reported in several districts. An air-raid alert sounded twice – at 1:16 and 2:25. The Air Forces confirmed the use of Russian drones.
Around 4:30 a.m., Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on the operation of the air-defense forces. Initially, two people were injured in the Solomyanskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts; one of them was hospitalized. At 6:07 Klitschko clarified that three residents were wounded, and all were transported to hospitals.
Subsequently, two more people were reported injured. In a Telegram post the mayor noted that in the Solomyanskyi district two more people were injured; overall, as of that time, five people were injured, all hospitalized.
Impact of the strike and damages in Kyiv’s districts

As of 6:42, damage to a number of residential and non-residential facilities was recorded in five districts of the capital. In the Darnytskyi district, fragments of a Russian UAV fell on parked cars and on the roadway – with no casualties.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, fragments of the drone fell on a two-story non-residential building, causing a fire; one person was injured. The fire was extinguished by emergency responders. Debris was also reported to have fallen on open ground – with no consequences or casualties.
In the Solomyanskyi district, there was partial collapse of a five-story residential building and a fire broke out; one person was injured. The fire was localized, rescuers continued to extinguish the flames. Also reported were damage to a non-residential building and debris falling on a private homestead – the extent of damage is being clarified.
In the Holosiivskyi district, fragments of the UAV fell in two locations in the private sector – initially no casualties. In the Dnipro district, fragments fell on parked cars – no casualties.
The situation remains under control: services are working to eliminate the consequences, determine the extent of damage and provide assistance to the injured. Citizens are advised to heed air-raid alerts and follow official announcements.
