Russian Assaults in Zaporizhzhia Stalled, Ukraine Holds Defense Lines

According to Institute for the Study of War (ISW)

As of October 26, the Russian forces in Zaporizhzhia continue offensive operations on the Orikhiv and Huliaipilske directions, but the advance of the Russian army has not been recorded. These conclusions are provided by the analytical center ISW.

According to ISW monitoring, from October 24 to 25 the enemy conducted active actions on the mentioned directions, but did not achieve significant progress. On the Huliaipilske direction, the Russians shelled positions near Zlahoda, Okhotnychoho, Novovasylivske, Novohryhorivka, Novomykolaivka, Poltavka, Pavlivka and Malynivka; in the Orikhiv area – near Mala Tokmachka and Novodanilivka, as well as Kamianske, Stepnohirsk, Stepove, Novoandrivka and Prymorske.

ISW also notes that the enemy forces are employing strike weapons – modified long-range guided aerial bombs – against Ukrainian cities. In particular, such bombs attacked Kamianske in the Dnipropetrovsk region from a distance of about 150 kilometers from the front line.

The Russian military aviation continues to strike deep into Ukrainian territory, going beyond the reach of Ukrainian air defense systems.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on October 25 the defense forces on the Huliaipilske and Orikhiv directions repelled 10 attacks by Russian troops.

ISW assessment and the current situation on the fronts

According to monitoring results, there has been no active advance by the occupiers; Ukrainian units continue to deter the enemy’s actions and maintain defense along the front line.
