Near the site of the attack by the Russian Federation, Dnipro, September 30, 2025. Suspilne Dnipro
As reported by the online media Suspilne.
Late on the evening of September 30, the city of Dnipro came under renewed attack by Russian drones. According to preliminary data, fires broke out as a result of the strikes, and the number of injured reached 12. Eyewitnesses say the strike hit civilian targets, including office premises where a book warehouse was located.
The city also recorded debris on facades and windows blown out in several buildings. Local humanitarian and medical services are working around the clock, providing aid to the injured and evacuating residents from the most damaged areas.
“I was on the first floor, heard the sound of a Shahed drone falling, and then the explosion. It hit – windows and doors blew out. I saw someone wounded. It’s just a normal office building; there’s nothing military there.”
Among the injured are office workers and visitors, as well as residents of neighboring buildings. The fire swept through several rooms, and parts of facades and windows were destroyed, which raised concerns about safety in the area.
Natalia, who works at a publishing house located in the same building, described the consequences:
“We, the publishing house, publish books; we have a stock of books there. Across from us is a psychological space, there are rooms where psychologists worked with people. On the second floor is a kindergarten. And there was also some clinic there. By the way, today is the publishing house’s birthday, five years. And the Russians arranged such a gift for our birthday”
In the apartment of Nadiya Vasylivna, the blast wave blew out the windows and plaster rained down. The woman was at home during the attack and described how it felt from the inside:
“I jumped out. It hit hard and suddenly. I got very scared, especially since I live alone. I even wanted to go to the doctor. Good that I didn’t go…”
As a result of the strike, the buildings of one of the city’s universities were also damaged. According to Zoia, the dean of the Faculty of Psychology, during the blast there were faculty and technical staff in the building. About 50 windows were knocked out; a woman was injured by glass.
“We were in a meeting. We were discussing the educational program. And suddenly a whistle like that, a blast. One, the second, the third. We ran into a room, between two walls. I already thought – it’s over. I started thinking where the keys were, what if everything here collapses. The anger and fury are immense. How could this be happening? Now only the bravest among the staff remain, because someone still has to clean up.”
The authorities and city services continue to investigate the events, and local residents are awaiting new information and further steps toward reconstruction and support for those affected.
