Russian Drone Attacks Cause Injuries and Damage in Sumy Region on September 28

In the evening of September 28, Russian unmanned aerial vehicles carried out a strike on the Burynska community of Sumy region. The information was confirmed by the region’s State Emergency Service in the morning of September 29, when the situation in the region was assessed and continued to be monitored.

In the territory of a private yard, a summer kitchen and an adjacent outbuilding under one roof caught fire. Firefighters promptly localized the fire and fully extinguished it. According to preliminary data from the regional military administration, a 65-year-old woman was injured.

Later information appeared about other shellings in the region: in the morning the Russian army attacked the city of Konotop; according to the city mayor Artem Semenihin, there was a strike by a Shahed drone, but there are no casualties.

Events in other Sumy region communities

In Bilopillia on the evening of September 28, the Russian Molniya hit a multi-family building. There are no casualties, but dozens of windows were damaged, said the city mayor Yuriy Zarko.

In the Konotop community, after a UAV attack, three civilians were injured: a 42-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man and a 20-year-old man. Destruction and damage to civilian infrastructure were recorded, including administrative premises, multi-family buildings, educational institutions and commercial facilities; also damage to a tram was recorded.

In the Seredyna-Buda community, an FPV drone strike led to injuries of a 62-year-old woman; two women aged 74 and 41 were also injured. Civil infrastructure was damaged.

The Sumy regional military administration reports that circumstances are being clarified; services continue to monitor the situation and provide assistance to the injured.
