According to Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, on the evening of November 5, Russian troops used Geran drones to attack an energy facility in a border community of Chernihiv district.

As a result of the strike, a fire broke out, which was promptly extinguished by firefighters; energy workers are now working to restore the facility and return stable electricity supply to the region.

According to regional authorities, on November 5 the enemy attacked four border communities: Novhorod-Siverska, Semenivska, Snovska, and Horodnyanska. Russian forces used Shahed-type strike drones, FPV drones, dropped explosives from drones, and shelled with mortars. Ten villages came under fire.

In particular, border guards recorded two explosions near Horodnia, probably linked to Shahed-type strike drones.

Impact and restoration of the energy system

Following rocket-and-drone strikes, there was damage to infrastructure, affecting energy supply to border communities. Firefighters and energy workers coordinate actions to mitigate the consequences, ensuring rapid restoration of systems and stabilization of supply.

The region continues to work on strengthening protection of critical infrastructure and monitoring the border situation in order to minimize risks and respond quickly to new threats.
