Russian Drone Strike Kills Civilian Near Slatyne, Kharkiv Region

On September 28, in Kharkiv Oblast, a Russian drone struck a civilian car traveling along the highway near Slatyne. This was reported by the head of the community, Vyacheslav Zadorenko.

The car carried three people – a couple with a daughter. As a result of the direct hit, the 44-year-old man, the driver, died at the scene. His 41-year-old wife sustained numerous shrapnel wounds, and the 14-year-old daughter suffered an acute stress reaction. The emergency medical team hospitalized the injured mother and daughter. They are currently receiving the necessary assistance, – according to the report.

Impact on the population and the authorities’ prompt response

At the same time the enemy continued attacks on Slatyne: around 14:30 the village was struck by a drone named “Molniya”, and at 15:20 two more strikes followed from rocket artillery. All hits were recorded in residential areas; at least six private houses and power lines were affected, the head of the MVA stated.

Local authorities and relevant services are working on evacuation measures and ensuring safety rules for the population. Infrastructure restoration and assistance to the injured continue. The situation is under the control of regional authorities and law enforcement forces.
