A serviceman of the Russian army has been charged with cruel treatment of a civilian during the occupation of the village of Lukashivka in the Chernihiv region. This information was released by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region.
The suspect is a soldier of the 74th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation, who participated in the occupation activities in Lukashivka. Together with two accomplices, he forcibly broke into a private house, took a man out, and brought him to a neighboring residence.
There, the soldier began brutally extracting a confession, inflicting a knife wound to the leg and continuing to press the blade into the wound, trying to obtain information about the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and territorial defense units. Other soldiers also beat the captive and threatened to shoot him with an automatic rifle.
Based on the collected evidence, SBU investigators have filed charges in absentia under part 2 of article 28 and part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning cruel treatment of civilians committed by a group of persons acting in concert during an armed conflict.
Active measures are currently underway to hold the Russian serviceman accountable, who has been identified as Nikita Belozyorov, born in 1994.
