In their attacks on Severodonetsk, Russian troops completely destroyed the local thermal power plant, said Ukraine’s energy operator Energoatom in a statement on Telegram.

Severodonesk plant was one of the biggest thermal power plants in Ukraine. It provided power to the city and the local chemical plant.

The town was seized by Russian troops earlier this month after Ukrainian forces pulled back to Lysychansk
