Security Council instructs government to ban medicines ads
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to impose a temporary moratorium on advertising medications.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky signed the order restricting promotion and ads of medicine  Thursday.

The policy introduces a 3-years’  moratorium on advertisements and promotion of medicines  by media oulets to ‘minimize harful effects  of self-medication’, says Security Council in a statement.

It also orders the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to create a ‘strategic plan’ for  public health policies until 2030.

New restrictions are set to bring in line domestic promotion and ads policies in line with the EU requirements.

In July, Ukraine banned selling drugs to under 14s.
