The Mariupol City Council announced this in its Telegram channel.

In Mariupol, seven boiler houses have stopped operating due to accidents. The outages affecting six boiler houses were caused by breaks in the heating mains. Another boiler stopped working due to unauthorized water extraction from the system.

Key Causes and Consequences

It is noted that the so-called city head Anton Koltsov admitted that in Mariupol there are regular cases of water being drained from the heating system, especially in the Kalmiuskyi district. Because of this, cases are opened against residents and forwarded to “law enforcement authorities.”

The city council explained that residents are forced to drain water from the pipes due to its critical shortage. The city operates restricted supply schedules, but many buildings remain without water for weeks. Moreover, according to residents, the quality of water is extremely low – it is unsuitable even for technical use.

As reported, in the so-called DPR, due to acute water shortages they introduced strict supply schedules: in Donetsk and Makiivka – once every three days from 17:00 to 21:00, and in Mariupol, Horlivka, Mykolaivka, Zugres, Ilovaisk and other nearby settlements – once every two days for four hours.

The water-supply situation in the region remains tense; water mains have not been fully restored in some areas, which requires quicker action from the responsible authorities.
