U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled a detailed plan to end the fighting in the Gaza Strip after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington. The main provisions include the release of hostages within 72 hours of the ceasefire taking effect, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and the restoration of infrastructure. It also proposes the creation of a demilitarized and «dearickalized» zone in Gaza, and subsequently the formation of International Stabilization Forces (ISF), which would cooperate with Israel, Egypt, and Jordan. Hamas is prohibited from participating in future administrative structures. The U.S. administration stresses that Israel should not occupy Gaza, and its territory would temporarily come under the control of the ISF. Under the plan, Palestine would gain a prospect for sovereignty and the creation of a fully fledged state.

The context surrounding this move points to rising tensions: Israel has expressed a firm resolve to oppose the Palestinian governing structure, and the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada recognize the State of Palestine, which heightens international attention to regional stability.

Current Context and Prospects for the Region

Ukraine is awaiting deliveries of Gripen, Mirage, and F-16 fighter jets. According to Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Ivan Gavryluk, the country expects additional batches of Swedish Gripen, French Mirage, and American F-16s. The exact timing and quantities of deliveries have not been disclosed yet. The Ukrainian side also emphasizes work under the new PURL program, which allows European allies to purchase weapons through the United States and transfer them to Kyiv. The first deliveries have already arrived, but the pace of aid is slowing due to the more complex procurement mechanism.

As part of military exercises, Ukrainian units arrived in Denmark for joint work on countering drones. Over the week, Ukrainian troops will practice practical tasks and exchange experiences with Danish colleagues, strengthening cooperation between the armed forces and enhancing security in Europe.

Regarding regional monitoring, Google updated satellite images of the occupied Mariupol. The images show extensive destruction of residential blocks and existing facilities, as well as new housing developments being built by Russian companies. The Mariupol Drama Theater, destroyed in 2022, is also among the sites of focus. According to local authorities, about 5% of the destroyed housing has been rebuilt; most residents still do not have housing, and new apartments are often allocated to displaced people or registered as municipal housing at the expense of those who were displaced.

Images and updates from Mariupol underscore the dynamics of regional reconstruction and shifts in zones of influence, which have a significant impact on the living prospects of local residents and the overall security situation in the region.
