U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the United States, China, and Russia could work on a plan for joint denuclearization, without providing details.

He said this during a speech at the American Business Forum in Miami.

We have updated our nuclear program – we are the number one nuclear power, and I am even uncomfortable admitting it, because it’s awful. Russia is second. China lags far behind, but they will catch up to us in four or five years. We may be working on a plan to denuclearize the three countries. We’ll see if it works

At the end of October, Trump said that he had ordered the Pentagon to resume nuclear weapons tests, in order to

with other countries that conduct their own tests.

Context and Possible Implications for International Security

Such a statement underscores that the issue of nuclear stability remains at the center of global politics. Details of the proposed denuclearization mechanism have not yet been disclosed, but the trilateral approach concept could influence future negotiations on arms control and deterrence regimes. In light of the events, the international community will be closely watching developments and possible diplomatic steps by the United States, China, and Russia.
