On Wednesday, the matches of the second day of the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League main stage for the 2025/26 season took place.
The Azerbaijani Karabakh managed to draw with one of the tournament favourites – Chelsea (England); also on the day Manchester City and Inter recorded victories following their previous win over Kairat.

Context of the tournament format and the participation of Ukrainian clubs
Reminder: for the second consecutive season, the Champions League format foresees a single knockout stage instead of the traditional group stage, where all participants are gathered in one bracket. 36 clubs play eight matches each – four at home and four away – against different opponents. Twenty-four teams will advance to the knockout rounds.
We should also note that Dynamo Kyiv did not qualify for the Champions League main round and are now competing in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Looking ahead, a tense contest for advancing to the knockout rounds and for clarifying the overall lineup of participants is expected, where every victory matters for climbing the group standings.
