The government has announced the allocation of 16 million UAH for restoring equipment at enterprises damaged by Russian shelling. During a meeting with the entrepreneurs of Sumy region, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko spoke about the grant program. Along with this, she announced the government’s decision to support internally displaced persons, veterans, Ukrainians freed from captivity, and other vulnerable groups.

In the future, evacuated citizens will be able to receive additional medical consultations, and a new social service providing accommodation for people with limited mobility will be introduced. Service providers for IDPs in hard-to-reach groups will ensure not only a bed but also help with daily living, with funding provided jointly from the state budget and local budgets.

Additionally, plans include arranging and modernizing housing for temporary IDP accommodation: the government approved 1 billion UAH in subventions for regional authorities for construction, restoration and adaptation of housing, with a focus on accessibility for people with limited mobility in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kherson regions. 100% of construction or renovation costs will be covered by this subvention.

In addition, measures are planned to support the procurement of solid fuel, additional payments for employed IDPs, simplified access for veterans to sports prostheses, and expanded rehabilitation opportunities for those released from Russian captivity.

«From Sumy region, I presented to colleagues the key challenges, especially in the field of security and defense. These issues will be considered separately at a thematic Government meeting on strengthening air defense and protecting border regions.»

– Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional State Administration

The Prime Minister also assured that information about the initiatives and new benefits will be shared through official channels, including chatbots and local media, so that those who truly need it can access it as quickly as possible.
