The Ukrainian delegation has departed for the United States for a working meeting on joint drone production. As part of the visit, discussions of the technical and manufacturing aspects of the future partnership are planned, according to the Ministry of Defense. The delegation is led by Deputy Minister of Defense Serhiy Boev.

As part of the negotiations, the possibility of implementing the Drone Deal agreement is also being considered, which envisions supplying the United States with drones of various types from Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that technical groups have already begun work on this initiative, and the United States plans to purchase drones directly in Ukraine.

“The technical groups are already starting to work on this agreement. This concerns the drones that the United States will procure directly in Ukraine.”

In addition, priorities regarding arms export controls were outlined: surplus weapons will be directed to European countries, the United States, and regions of the Middle East, and the funds raised will be allocated to supporting defense developments, including drones and interception systems.

“Where we produce more, the surplus can be exported, and we can have money from it to spend on a scarce good – drones, long-range interceptors – the thing we lack money for. Such a system suits everyone. It suits the army,”

– Volodymyr Zelensky

In the context of defense cooperation development, it is worth noting that on September 21 the president stated that Ukraine has initial proposals for partners regarding the export of modern domestically produced weapons.
