As reported by Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a resolution that allows the allocation and use of the second tranche of financing from the European Investment Bank (EIB) totaling €100 million as part of Ukraine Recovery Programme III.
The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development announced this, according to Ukrinform.
It is emphasized that the resolution allows the transfer of a grant from the state to communities. These funds will become available for financing recovery projects under Ukraine Recovery Programme III (Tranche B) and for the first time will be directed under the guarantees of the Ukraine Facility financial instrument.
“This is a direct investment in the recovery and resilience of Ukrainian communities. Our priority is the most effective transformation of these resources into key social facilities: rebuilding schools and hospitals, expanding barrier-free spaces and modernization of heating systems. From now on, there are all the necessary tools on the ground to immediately start implementing these projects.”
How the funds will be used and which facilities will be included in the repairs
The funds will be directed toward restoring social and critical infrastructure facilities damaged by Russia’s armed aggression. This will open up new opportunities to repair schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and housing and utilities infrastructure.
The total financing under Ukraine Recovery Programme III amounts to €250 million. The first tranche of €100 million was ratified in August 2024.
According to data, the Expert Working Group reviewed the latest recovery projects under the joint Ukraine Recovery Programme III with the EIB and recommended nine projects for funding totaling 1.1 billion UAH.
