As reported by Office of the Prosecutor General
This year the state returned over 400 hectares of the border strip belonging to defense lands, with a total value exceeding 1 billion hryvnias.
The Office of the Prosecutor General confirms this.
Return of Defense Lands in the Border Strip: Figures and Implications
Specialized prosecutors in the defense sector this year returned to the state 411.6 hectares of land along the state border, the estimated value of which is over 1 billion hryvnias
It is noted that these are defense lands that have key significance for national security and are needed to protect the border, deploy units, and operate border infrastructure.
Such territories can belong only to the state. However, there have been cases when they were illegally transferred into private or municipal ownership.
In each of these cases, prosecutors challenged the court decisions and returned the land to its target purpose – for the defense of the state
These data also indicate the scale of work in the field of defense lands and border protection of the country. It is also known that last year the Ministry of Defense registered 8,500 hectares of land for military needs.
The transfer of part of the lands of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine to the state-owned enterprise “Reserve” is on hold – the parties are negotiating to find a compromise solution.
