Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga on November 6 welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Ukraine, Neil Crompton.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said this, according to Ukrinform.
“The minister welcomed the British diplomat on taking up his post in Ukraine and highly praised the strategic character of the Ukrainian-British partnership.”
Meeting at the Foreign Ministry and the main topics of negotiations
During the meeting, the parties outlined the urgency of intensifying the Strategic Partnership Dialogue between Ukraine and the United Kingdom. The participants expressed willingness to participate in the first expanded session on the political track, co-chaired by the foreign ministers of the two countries, in accordance with the implementation of strategic documents and agreements.
Crompton and Sibiga discussed further steps to strengthen cooperation across various areas, including energy security and Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.
Sibiga expressed gratitude for the United Kingdom’s ongoing political, military and financial support, which totals over 21 billion pounds sterling, as well as for London’s leadership in the Coalition of the Willing, sanctions policy against Russia, notably in bringing the aggressor to account and using proceeds from frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s benefit.
The parties also discussed issues of energy security and Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.

Crompton assured the United Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to continuing comprehensive support for Ukraine, helping to achieve a just peace, and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky on November 5 accepted credentials from the newly appointed ambassadors of the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Chile and Somalia.
