Ukrainian Forces Repel 53 Russian Assaults, Inflict Heavy Losses on 28 September

Over the past day, September 28, 136 combat engagements were recorded on the front. In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders managed to halt 53 assault actions by the Russian army. According to operational data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 08:00 on September 29, enemy losses amounted to 1,080 personnel.

In the enemy’s arsenal on the day of the attack, one missile strike and 81 air strikes were recorded; 50 missiles and 156 guided air bombs were used. Additionally, the enemy conducted 4,682 shellings, of which 124 were from multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 6,432 kamikaze drones. Air strikes were carried out on the Zaliznychne and Novoselivka areas of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, as well as on Olhivka in Kherson Oblast.

Defensive forces in a day struck two districts of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment, one UAV command post and five other important targets of the occupiers.

Enemy losses for the day totaled 1,080 personnel; among the destroyed equipment were seven tanks, 53 artillery systems, one MLRS, one air defense asset, 617 unmanned aerial vehicles, 43 cruise missiles, 111 units of motor vehicles and two units of enemy special equipment.

Situation on the Front as of September 29

The situation by sectors remained tense. In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, seven engagements occurred yesterday; the enemy delivered 10 air strikes, dropped 19 guided aerial bombs and conducted 179 shellings, including eight from MLRS.

In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy conducted five attacks near Vovchansk, Vovchanske Khutory, Ambarne and Kamyanka. In the Kupiansk direction, three engagements were recorded; Ukrainian defenders repelled assaults near Kupiansk and Zahryzove. In the Lyman direction, five attacks occurred near Torske, Derilove, Shandryholove and Stavky. In the Sievier direction, the defense forces stopped eight offensive actions near Fedorivka, Hryhorivka, Serebryanka and in the directions of Yampil and Dronivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, two engagements were recorded; the occupiers advanced toward Predtechyne and Minkivka. In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops carried out 12 attacks in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Stepanivka, Pleshchiivka, Poltavka, Oleksandro-Kalinove, Ivanopillya and Rusynogo Yar. In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 53 assault actions by the RF in the areas of Volodymyrivka, Chervonoho Lyman, Nikanorivka, Lysivka, Zviorove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novoekonomichne, Horikhove, Filiia and in the directions of Myrnohrad, Rodynske and Balagan.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Russians yesterday conducted 21 attacks near Ternove, Piddubne, Maliivka, Novohryhorivka, Novomykolaivka, Verbove and in the direction of Andriivka-Klevtsove. In the Huliaipilske direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped two attempts to advance near Poltavka. The Orikhiv direction did not record offensive actions. In the Prydniprovske direction, the Russians attacked positions near the Antonivskyi Bridge twice – they were unsuccessful. The Volyn and Polissia directions show no signs of forming offensive groups.

Overall, the situation on the front line remains dynamic: both sides actively employ artillery and aviation, but Ukrainian units continue to deter the enemy’s advances on key directions and hold their positions.
