According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on November 5 the front recorded 260 combat engagements between Ukrainian defense forces and Russian invaders, 93 of which occurred in the Pokrovsk direction.
The main briefing, released by the General Staff’s press service on its Facebook page, as of 22:00 on Wednesday, November 5, Ukrinform reports.
“Overall since the start of this day there have been 260 combat engagements… Today the Russian troops carried out one rocket strike and 43 air strikes, using five missiles and dropping 94 guided air bombs. In addition, they deployed 2351 kamikaze drones and carried out 3177 shellings of our troops’ positions and populated areas”
Pokrovsk direction – enemy activity
On the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day the enemy has attempted four times to advance on the positions of Ukrainian units. Attacks were concentrated in the areas of Mayak, Nikanorivka, Fedoriivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrolyubivka, Pokrovsk, Lysivka, Zvirove, Novopavlivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Muravka, Filia and Yalta. In some locations the battles continue.
Active defense by Ukrainian units continues with countermeasures to prevent the enemy from consolidating in the city. As part of strike-reconnaissance operations, assault units and consolidated formations have been involved, as well as operators of SBS, VSP ZSU, SBU, NGU and GUR MOU. The defense forces are strengthening the fortifications along the defensive lines in this area.
According to preliminary data, on the Pokrovsk direction about 119 invaders have been neutralized, of which 94 were irrecoverably killed. Also hit were 12 shelters for personnel, a BPLA antenna, a ground-based unmanned aerial system and one unit of enemy equipment.
On the Oleksandrivka direction the enemy 31 times tried to break through the defense near Zelenyi Hai, Ivanivka, Piddubne, Sichneve, Oleksandrgrad, Vorone, Sosnivka, Stepove, Verbove, Pryvilne, Novohryhorivka and Pershotravneve. The battles continue in several locations.
In the Hulaypilskyi direction 12 combat engagements were recorded in the areas of Novomykolaivka, Uspenivka, Okhotnyche and Zelenyi Hai; three battles are ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, one armed clash occurred near Stepove, and in the Prydniprovske direction – two assaults near the Antonivskyi Bridge were repelled by Ukrainian defenders.
In the remaining directions, the situation remains without significant changes.

The work to block the enemy attempting to penetrate and consolidate in Pokrovsk continues. Our defenders are intensifying countermeasures to keep the city under control and prevent further threats to residents.
