Ukrainian Missile Strike Hits Russia’s Elektrodetal Plant in Karachev

As reported by General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On September 29, the missile and artillery units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in coordination with other defense forces, delivered a missile strike on the Russian Electrodetal plant in the city of Karachev, Bryansk Oblast, Russia. According to the General Staff, four missiles with a range of over 240 km were launched at the facility; explosions and a fire were recorded on the plant’s premises. The results of the strike are currently being clarified.

According to the General Staff, the operation aims to undermine the aggressor’s military and economic potential and to compel Russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine.

Profile of the Electrodetal Plant

The Karachev Electrodetal plant specializes in producing a variety of electrical connectors: low-, high-, and mixed-frequency solutions for military and general industrial sectors.

The products are used in aerospace, electronics, instrumentation, and related sectors; among the items are connectors for printed circuit boards, military equipment, aircraft, antennas, base stations, and measuring instruments.

Also on the night of September 26, the Ukrainian unmanned system forces, together with other defense units, struck the Afipsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation, damaging the facility’s capacity.

The agency also notes that the extent of the damage and the consequences of the operations are being clarified.
