According to the GUR press service
Yesterday, September 27, at a restricted Russian military base in Melitopol’s aviation town, which is under temporary occupation, a special unit destroyed a vehicle carrying Russian drone operators.
According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the operation was extremely complex: a UAZ “Bukhanka” SUV was destroyed, and at least four operators of the Russian Army’s unmanned aerial vehicles who were inside the vehicle were eliminated.
The event demonstrates the ability of Ukrainian forces to respond swiftly in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast and to inflict significant losses on the enemy in the realm of remotely piloted drones.
Significance of the operation and its possible consequences
The elimination of this vehicle with UAV operators reduces the enemy’s ability to remotely control equipment in this zone and complicates the operational tasks of Russian formations near Melitopol.
The episode underscores the high professionalism of Ukrainian intelligence and special forces units, which systematically erode the enemy’s resources in the temporarily occupied areas of Zaporizhzhia Oblast and reduce its combat effectiveness in the region.
Details of the operation are being kept confidential, but it is known that an armored or multi-purpose vehicle that served as a platform for the UAV operators and the equipment that enables their work was destroyed.
