Voting Irregularities Discovered in Poland’s Presidential Runoff

This is reported by the National Prosecutor’s Office of Poland

In Poland, in the Bielsko-Biała district, the court uncovered serious violations during the vote count in the second round of the presidential election. This information was confirmed by the national prosecutor’s office of Poland.

As a result of a vote recount initiated by the Supreme Court of Poland, it was established that one of the district electoral commissions deliberately falsified the results to show a victory for Karol Nawrocki, although in reality, Rafał Trzaskowski won in the district.

Another case in Bielsko-Biała revealed that 160 votes cast for Rafał Trzaskowski were mistakenly counted as votes for Karol Nawrocki.

“The deficiencies identified by the district court in Bielsko-Biała raise serious doubts about the reliability of the work of the mentioned electoral commissions, and also indicate the possibility of a crime.”

The collected inspection materials will be forwarded to the regional prosecutor’s office in Katowice for further investigation of those responsible for organizing the electoral process in the districts.

Rafał Trzaskowski, the candidate from the “Civic Platform” who was defeated, previously filed a protest with the Supreme Court due to the violations discovered during the voting.

On June 9, it became known that the national electoral commission of Poland will review the election results at certain polling stations due to complaints about incorrectly completed protocols, some of which have already been submitted to the Supreme Court.

On June 12, the Supreme Court of Poland allowed a review of the presidential election results in 13 districts, including the city of Kraków.

On July 2, the court is expected to make a decision regarding the approval or revision of the presidential election results based on the complaints received.
