Weather Impact on Sabotage and Defense in Pokrovsk Direction

As reported by the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces on Facebook

Deteriorating weather conditions on the Pokrovsk direction are creating unfavorable conditions for the infiltration of sabotage groups, which disguise themselves as civilians and use motorized equipment to approach Ukrainian positions.

She spoke about this on November 6 during a channel broadcast, describing the commander of the crew of the unmanned systems battalion “Hornets of Dovbush” of the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade named after Oleksiy Dovbush, call sign “Conan”.

“They started doing this since July; later they were cleared out, but perhaps someone still managed to establish themselves, slip into basements and not reveal themselves. They were disguising themselves there; a lot has been said about them disguising as civilians, waiting for their moment, and previously the tactic was one or two, this has been going on for a couple of months”

According to the servicewoman, the intensity of using KABs is not decreasing; the Russian army is also placing artillery along positions, conducting rotations, and trying to infiltrate into the rear positions of Ukrainian forces to destabilize the work of mortar crews and pilots.

“They are already starting to cluster into larger groups and form stronger ‘strike fists’. They are also starting to ride in on motorized transport, entering on these bicycles or ‘Bagi’ – all due to these weather conditions”

– Conan

Massive use of heavy equipment has not yet been observed, Conan clarified, but there are isolated incursions and a buildup of forces by Russian troops.

“They should not engage in direct rifle-type clashes, but such incidents occur”

– Conan

In the area of responsibility of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, there is a substantial increase in the intensity of Russian offensives. If last month the average number of attacks was 13 per day, on November 5 the Russian army conducted 30 assaults; the most strikes – 12 – fell within the zone of responsibility of the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade.

According to the 7th Corps, since the start of the month the defenders of the Pokrovsk agglomeration have destroyed 284 occupiers, another 107 Russians were wounded.

“In their actions there are signs of criminal offenses under Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ‘Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer’ and Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ‘Intentional destruction or damage of property’. The relevant notices have been sent to the National Police”

Conclusion: Weather conditions as a safety factor in Donbas

Deteriorating weather conditions on the Pokrovsk direction continue to influence the enemy’s actions: sabotage groups try to act quickly and covertly, while Ukrainian units strengthen control over supply chains and rear zones. The preservation of positions and minimization of risk for personnel depend on coordinated action, swift response, and readiness. Staying vigilant and maintaining effective cooperation between units is a demand of the time, as any change in the situation could affect front-line stability.
