As reported by the online media Suspilne.
On the Sumy front, there are currently over 53,000 Russian troops deployed. Fighting continues along Ukraine’s state border, but the enemy has not been able to advance into the Dnipropetrovsk region. This information was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian positions on the Kupiansk and Kharkiv fronts remain stable. In Sumy region, the Russian army has been stopped, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have regained control over the settlement of Andriivka.
“The maximum depth at which fighting is taking place from the border (referring to Sumy region – ed.) is 7 km. The main battles are in Andriivka, Kindrativka, Oleksiivka, Kostiantynivka, Yunakivka. Control has been restored in Andriivka today. And fighting continues in the other directions I mentioned.”
The President also emphasized that Russian forces are trying to spread disinformation about the situation in the Dnipropetrovsk region, similar to what happened in Sumy region.
“In the Dnipropetrovsk region, they are trying to at least get one foot across the administrative border. For them, it’s an important story – to take photos, videos, and so on. That’s why they send small sabotage and reconnaissance groups to simply do that.”
One of these sabotage groups was destroyed by Ukrainian forces the day before.
“They found one group, and our forces destroyed it. They were one kilometer from the administrative border. The group consisted of six people. They advanced simply because it was a small group and they were not seen.”
