Zelensky tried to influence utility tariffs
President Zelensky went beyond his powers, interfering in the procedure for setting tariffs for the use of utility services.

The norms of Article 10 of the law of Ukraine ‘On utility services” stipulate that tariffs for housing and communal services are set by agreement of the parties, except in cases when they are regulated by law. In this case, the tariffs are set by the state bodies or local self-government bodies authorized by law.

The procedure for setting tariffs for utilities was approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of June 1, 2011.

Given the above, the system of calculating utility tariffs does not provide for the participation of the president of Ukraine.

Thus, Zelensky violated Articles 19, 106, 113 of the Constitution of Ukraine and laws of Ukraine ‘On utility services’, ‘On the national commission for state regulation in the spheres of energy and utilities’.
