Ukraine toughens entry rules for entry of the country amid fears of a new wave of Covid pandemic.

According to Ukrainian Border service, foreigners entering Ukraine should have:

  • insurance COVID-19 certificate valid for the entire period of stay in Ukraine;
  • negative PCR or rapid test for COVID-19, made 72 hours before crossing the state border;
  • or a vaccination document.

Persons crossing the state border to enter Ukraine are subject to self-isolation. This applies to both citizens of Ukraine and foreigners.

Self-isolation is not necessary for:

  • persons under 18;
  • citizens of Ukraine who went abroad before August 4, 2021;
  • members of official delegations of foreign states, employees of international organizations;
  • employees of diplomatic missions;
  • military within the NATO Partnership for Peace program;
  • participants in the external independent evaluation;
  • drivers and crew members of freight vehicles, aircraft and ships, river vessels, train and locomotive crews;
  • persons who have a document confirming full vaccination;
  • citizens of Ukraine who have a document confirming one dose of the vaccine.

 

Crossing of the state border for entry into Ukraine by foreigners and stateless persons who are subject to self-isolation, without the installed and activated mobile application ‘Vdoma’ is prohibited.

Self-isolation is necessary for citizens coming from the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
