‘The Russian lists contained those who were in opposition to the local Ukrainian authorities’- the story of a journalist kidnapped by Russian occupiers in Kherson

Along with bloody tricolors, Soviet-style traditions and corruption, the occupiers are introducing totalitarianism in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. The local population is completely controlled by the self-proclaimed government, and any civilian resistance faces brutal torture, captivity, and in some cases even death. The occupiers commit mass kidnappings of pro-Ukrainian activists, dissidents, journalists, representatives of local authorities, religious figures and businesspersons.
